What Are Social Connection Groups?

Our social connection groups provide a safe, structured environment to practice communication, friendship skills, and social understanding. Groups are led by experienced speech pathologists and are tailored to each person's developmental level and interests.

Who Benefits?

Social connection groups are ideal for people who:

  • Struggle with peer relationships or making friends
  • Have difficulty with turn-taking and conversation
  • Experience anxiety in social situations
  • Are learning social communication (including autistic individuals and those with language differences)
  • Benefit from peer learning and practice

What Do We Cover?

  • Conversation skills (starting, maintaining, ending conversations)
  • Friendship skills and problem-solving
  • Understanding emotions and perspectives
  • Play and cooperative activities
  • Confidence-building in social situations

Group Structure

Groups meet regularly (typically weekly) and include structured activities, play-based learning, and discussion. We keep groups small to ensure each person receives attention and support.
